California's Disneyland Resort has begun welcoming guests to the Pixar Place Hotel.

Pixar Place replaces the former Paradise Pier, which underwent an extensive revamp and retheming effort. Disney said the property is now the "first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States."

The 479-room hotel showcases characters and stories from Pixar films, with a large sculpture of the animation studio's Pixar Lamp mascot serving as a lobby centerpiece. Updated guestrooms include two new two-bedroom signature suites: the Oaxacan-inspired Coco Suite and midcentury modern Incredibles Suite. A new concierge lounge, Creators Club, has been added.

Public areas have similarly undergone a full makeover, with the property now home to an expanded fitness center, a new retail store concept, an upgraded rooftop recreation area, the refreshed Pixel Pool and a Finding Nemo-themed splash pad and slide.

Pixar Place also has new food and beverage offerings, including all-day restaurant Great Maple and grab-and-go coffee shop The Sketch Pad Café. A rooftop pool bar called Small Bytes is expected open in early March.

Pixar Place Hotel joins Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland's hotel portfolio.
