Viking will offer three itineraries in China this fall.

The packages, two of which blend land and cruise travel, will stretch from 10 to 20 days and include calls in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong and sail the coast to ports where Viking says it only has access.

The China Discovery cruise will sail for 10 days along the coast from Shanghai to Hong Kong (Shenzhen) with calls to Zhoushan, Dongtou, Pingtan, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

The Classic China & the Coast package will span 15 days and begin in Beijing followed by a flight to Xian and another to Shanghai before boarding the ship. The ocean portion of the itinerary will mirror calls in the China Discovery itinerary.

The Wonders of China itinerary will also blend land and cruise travel. The trip will begin in Beijing, followed by a flight to Shanghai. The cruise will include the calls from the China Discovery itinerary. The itinerary also includes flights to Chengdu, Lhasa, Xian and back to Beijing.

The new itineraries are available from September to November and will include a cruise on the Viking Yi Dun, formerly the Viking Sun.

In 2019, Viking announced a joint venture with China Merchants Group to bring Viking ocean cruises to Chinese travelers. In 2021, China Merchants Viking Cruises acquired the Yi Dun, according to Cruise Industry News.
