Hawaiian Airlines will begin to offer content supported by New Distribution Capability (NDC) in the Sabre GDS under a newly signed multiyear distribution agreement.

The NDC content is expected to be available within Sabre by the end of this year, the companies said.

The agreement also set the stage for the Jan. 16 dismissal of Sabre's breach-of-contract lawsuit against Hawaiian. The technology company sued Hawaiian in 2022, alleging that the $7 GDS surcharge Hawaiian implemented in the late spring of that year was in breach of contract.

Also, Sabre accused Hawaiian of violating the companies' contract through its decision to withhold interisland flights and fares from the GDSs, including Sabre's. Under the new contact, Hawaiian says it will offer its HA Connect NDC content through Sabre, which would include interisland fares. Hawaiian doesn't assess the surcharge on its NDC bookings.

Hawaiian made no mention of any changes to the surcharge or to interisland fare access via Sabre's legacy distribution technology (Edifact). The airline only said that its "strategy utilizing GDS legacy technology remains unchanged."
