Hawaiian Airlines and Sabre have settled the breach-of-contract lawsuit brought by Sabre in 2022.
In a Jan. 16 court filing, the two companies stipulated to a voluntary dismissal of the case. Each company will cover its own attorney's fees.
The dismissal was first reported Wednesday by The Beat, a sister publication to Travel Weekly at Northstar Travel Group.
In the suit, Sabre had sought to end the $7 GDS surcharge that Hawaiian implemented in the late spring of 2022. Also, Sabre had accused Hawaiian of violating the companies' contract through its decision to withhold interisland flights and fares from the GDSs, including Sabre's.
In a December court filing, attorneys for the two parties reported that they were engaged in productive settlement discussions and that they expected to come to a resolution in conjunction with the renewal of their distribution agreement.
Travel Weekly has reached out to Sabre and Hawaiian for comment. The parties have not yet said whether Hawaiian will do away with the GDS surcharge within Sabre or resume selling interisland flights in Sabre.
Alaska Airlines, which has reached an agreement to purchase Hawaiian, does not levy a GDS surcharge.
