About New Hampshire

New Hampshire offers the full range of accommodations, from budget lodgings to first-class and deluxe hotels. Make reservations in advance for stays in the busy months of July and August and in early October. Keep in mind that weekends, too, can be crowded because of New Hampshire's proximity to both New York City and Boston. Be sure to spend at least part of your stay in one of the many antiques-filled bed-and-breakfasts or historic inns scattered around the state. Some inns have operated for more than 100 years, and some are restored colonial homes. Open year-round, lakeside or mountain resort hotels offer swimming, boating, waterskiing, tennis, hot tubs, skating and skiing. Motels (chain and private), housekeeping cottages (often with fireplaces), condos and campgrounds offer other options.
